Motorcycle Accident | Motorcyclist killed on Grand Prairie freeway

Daniel Jarrod Kimber, 22, of Arlington, was westbound on the freeway about 10:45 p.m. when he collided with a older model maroon Dodge van, the release stated. Kimber was thrown onto the inside lane where he was struck by a car.

Kimber died at the scene, the release stated.

Police said that witnesses followed the van to the parking lot of a restaurant at I-20 and Great Southwest Parkway, where some occupants got out and briefly checked damage to the rear of the vehicle before leaving. Witnesses told police there were an adult man and woman and at least one teen in the van. The van also has a broken window on the right side, police said in the release.

The collision remains under investigation and police are searching for the van. Anyone with information is asked to call Grand Prairie police at 972-237-8906.

This is the fourth traffic fatality in Grand Prairie in 2011.
