Salmonella from Tainted Peanut More Widespread than Reported

Contrary to local news reports showing 13 cases of peanut-butter related Salmonella in Texas and 300 in 39 states, more than 100 people have contacted the Texas-based law firm of Noteboom in the past 24 hours to report illness from eating the tainted peanut butter.

Noteboom's lawyers were the subject of daily media coverage over the past few weeks as they conducted a lengthy trial against food giant Ben E. Keith concerning food poisoning from chili. During trial, the food company settled for a confidential amount. Unlike the salmonella found in ConAgra's peanut butter, Noteboom alleged that the contaminated chili caused botulism.

The tainted peanut butter is branded as Peter Pan or Great Value and contains the product code 2111. ConAgra has offered a refund, but is requiring that consumers return the jar, its label, or the jar lid. Noteboom is advising its clients to reject this offer as it forces the consumer to surrender critical evidence of purchase.

Noteboom - The Law Firm is among the largest personal injury firms in Tarrant County and focuses on protecting the rights of individuals and small businesses throughout the United States.
