Euless motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV in Grand Prairie

GRAND PRAIRIE -- A Euless motorcyclist was killed this weekend when his bike collided with a sport utility vehicle at an intersection, Grand Prairie police said Sunday.

Two people in the vehicle were hurt in the wreck Saturday evening, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The victim was identified as Steven Washington, 49, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police reported the crash at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Road and Crossland Boulevard in south Grand Prairie.

Washington was driving a 2007 Yamaha north on Robinson, and a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero was westbound on Crossland. The Montero collided with the motorcycle when the SUV entered the intersection to go south, Grand Prairie police said.

Police identified the driver of the SUV as Chantha Soulachack, 61, of Grand Prairie and a passenger as Khone Soulachack, 59. They were taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

Investigators say they believe that the Montero failed to yield at a stop sign. Alcohol and speeding were not factors, police reports said.
