FORT WORTH - At least two vehicles were involved in a fiery accident on Fort Worth's South Freeway Tuesday afternoon.
One person was killed in the wreckage on the highway near Risinger Road when a utility truck carrying flammable liquids rear-ended a pickup truck.
Fort Worth police said it was not immediately clear whether any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Three people suffered minor injuries and declined a ride to the hospital for a checkup.
The accident at 4:20 p.m. shut down traffic in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35W along with the service road. Police were directing traffic over a median to Burleson Cardinal Road to get around the accident scene.
Northbound traffic was slowed by onlookers.
A Texas Department of Transportation surveillance camera showed Fort Worth firefighters spraying foam on the wreckage shortly after the accident.
The pickup truck involved in the incident was unrecognizable after the impact and fire.
The name of the victim was not released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
