Man injured in motorcycle crash

SUGAR LAND (KTRK) -- A man was hospitalized after his motorcycle hit a sports utility vehicle in Sugar Land.

The accident happened around 11pm Friday at the intersection of Texas 6 and U.S. 90.

The 52-year-old was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital with a possible broken leg and internal injuries, officials said.

According to police, he was in serious condition Saturday morning but is expected to survive.

Initial reports from the scene stated the inured motorcyclist was a police officer, but ABC13 could not confirm his place of employment Saturday.

It was unknown who or what caused the crash. The accident is under investigation.
