Marshall Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident

A Marshall man died Friday morning when his motorcycle struck a car traveling southbound on 700 Block of East End of U.S. Highway 259 South.

Wesley Russell,30, of Marshall died in the accident and his wife, Ashley Russell, 28, is listed in serious condition at East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System in Tyler.

"Her injuries are so extensive, they are basically going to have to start from scratch to make sure they are not missing anything," Marshall Assistant Fire Chief Reggie Cooper.

Cooper said the driver of a Ford Taurus was entering the 700 Block of East End Boulevard from a private drive attempting to go southbound. The motorcycle was traveling northbound and struck the car.

The driver of the Ford Taurus was not injured in the accident and Marshall Police did not release the driver's name. The investigation continues according to Marshall Police.
