Motorcycle Accident | Burleson man dies after motorcycle crashes into SUV

BURLESON - A Burleson man died Friday after he crashed his motorcycle into the side of a sport utility vehicle.

Martin Thiessen, 40, was driving east on Renfro Street toward Clark Street at about 6 p.m. Friday when a Chevrolet Suburban driving north on Clark pulled out in front of his motorcycle to drive west on Renfro, causing Thiessen to hit the driver's side of the SUV, Burleson police spokeswoman Sally Ellertson said.

Thiessen died at the scene, Ellertson said. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the SUV and an 8-year-old passenger were not hurt in the crash, Ellertson said.

The intersection at Renfro Street was closed in both directions for about three hours, Ellertson said.

The crash is still under investigation, police said.
