Two Parker County teenagers were killed and two were seriously injured in a fiery crash early Thursday near Springtown.Joshua James Brown, 18, of Weatherford and Alex Christian, 14, of Aledo were killed when the Dodge pickup they were in veered off a road, crashed into a house and burst into flames. Authorities said they believe that Brown was driving.

Halston "Hoss" McCue, 15, and Madelyne Mitchell, 13, both of Weatherford, were burned in the crash and remained in hospitals Thursday. The pickup and the house were destroyed by the fire. Three people who were inside the house escaped injury, authorities said.McCue was taken by helicopter ambulance to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Mitchell was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Hospital officials did not release any information on their conditions. The wreck occurred about 12:05 a.m. Thursday when the driver of the pickup, which was eastbound on Midway Road, lost control and veered off the road, hitting several concrete posts and community mailboxes before crashing into the house in the 100 block of Hyde Away Lane, said Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Lonny Haschel."We're looking at speed being a factor in the crash," Haschel said Thursday.McCue's friend Garrett Gaines said McCue told him that Brown lost control of the truck when he swerved to miss another car."That's why they ran off the road," Gaines said. "He didn't say how fast they were going."Eric Vinson, chief of Parker County Emergency Services District No. 1, said a firefighter who lives across the street was the first to arrive at the site.Vinson said three victims were outside the pickup when Capt. Walt Moore of Station 51 in La Junta arrived."He started treating the victims," Vinson said. "All but one was out of the vehicle. The driver was still in the vehicle. It's possible that the passengers got out on their own. I don't know."Vinson said firefighters from La Junta and Springtown put out the fire by 2:30 a.m.Facebook pages were filled with prayers for the teens who survived and condolences for the two who died.
