A driver from Mansfield faces an intoxication manslaughter charge after a man was fatally struck near I-20 and Campus Drive in south Fort Worth overnight.

The victim, an Alvarado man, had parked his brown 1984 Ford pickup on the eastbound shoulder in the 2500 block of Southeast Loop 820 to change a flat tire around 1:15 a.m. Friday, police said.

A 1998 gold GMC van drove onto the shoulder and slammed into the pickup. The victim was outside the truck and died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the van, Mario Campos, 59, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, police said.

Police would only say that the driver lives in Mansfield. The victim has not been identified
