MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas -- Mount Pleasant police are looking for a second vehicle in an accident in which a 4-year-old boy was killed and his 13-year-old cousin was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident.
A driver who hit the boys is jailed on a manslaughter charge but police believe a second driver also hit one of them and then fled the scene.
Kameron Jones, 4, and his 13-year-old cousin, Joclyn Roberts, were crossing the street late Saturday night when they were struck by a vehicle. Witnesses said drivers had stopped to allow the two pedestrians to cross, but another vehicle hit them while using a turn-lane to pass the stopped traffic, police said.
Edward Moya, 21, was booked on charges of manslaughter and injury to a child.
Police said they are looking for a second vehicle that also struck Kameron.
The 13-year-old is at a Dallas hospital.
