Teen killed in three-vehicle crash near Denton

A Sunset teenager died Saturday night at a Fort Worth hospital from injuries he suffered in a three-vehicle wreck just west of Denton.

Two other people were injured and were in a Denton hospital in stable condition, according to Texas Department of Public Safety reports released Sunday.

The teen was identified as Tyler Kilcrease, 17.

He was pronounced dead at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

Sunset is about 60 miles northwest of Fort Worth in Montague County.

The wreck occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 380 about six miles west of Denton. Kilcrease was driving a 2004 Chevrolet pickup eastbound on the highway when his vehicle hit the back of a 2007 Ford Explorer, DPS reported.

On impact, the pickup veered over and hit a westbound 2005 Dodge.

The driver of the Dodge and his passenger were taken to the hospital. The DPS report did not mention any injuries to the driver of the Explorer.

Drivers and the passenger in the accident were wearing seat belts, DPS reported.

The wreck remained under investigation Sunday .
