The northbound lanes of Texas 121 in Bedford have been shut down after a dead man was found on the highway early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of Texas 121 at Bedford Road shortly after 3 a.m. and found the man dead in the left lane, police spokesman Kirk Roberts said.

The man was only identified as a white male, Roberts said.

Roberts could not confirm if the man had been walking on the freeway when he was struck by a vehicle.

The northbound lanes of Texas 121 were shut down starting at the 2200 block at 4 a.m. Wednesday as investigators worked the scene, Robert said.

The highway shutdown includes a ramp from Airport Freeway Texas 183 onto Texas 121, Roberts said.
