MOORHEAD - A 50-year-old Texas man is accused in Clay County District Court of sexually abusing a pre-teen girl in Moorhead on five occasions in 2007 and 2008.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Juan Jose Alvarez, 50, of Crystal City, Texas, after five counts of criminal sexual conduct were filed against him.

The criminal complaint alleges a 14-year-old girl from Fergus Falls told Moorhead police last month the alleged abuse happened when Alvarez lived in Moorhead in 2007 and 2008.

The alleged victim, who was 11 or 12 years old then, described for investigators five separate incidences of sexual abuse that occurred in a Moorhead residence.
