A Granbury woman is dead after she was run over at a Dallas strip club early Thursday morning by a custom pickup truck with a lift kit so high the driver told police he couldn't see her.
Kasey McKenzie, 23, was walking through the parking lot of the Spearmint Rhino at 10965 Composite Drive at about 2:18 a.m. when she walked in front of a custom silver Ford F-250 that pulled out of the parking space and ran her over with the front and back tires, according to a Dallas police report.
McKenzie died at the scene, Dallas police spokesman Gerardo Monreal said.
The driver, identified as Eric Crutchfield, 27, of Dallas, told officers that he never saw her and did not know he had run over anything, according to the police report.
Officers arrested Crutchfield on suspicion that he was drunk at the time and he now faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter, Monreal said.
The truck had large tires and a lift kit that raised the frame several feet and limited visibility in the front, Monreal said.
It's not known at this time if McKenzie had worked at the club, Monreal said.
Crutchfield remains in custody in the Dallas County Jail with bail set at $100,000, according to Dallas County Jail records.
