Truck Accident | Man run over by truck in Taylor

TAYLOR, Texas (KXAN) - An 18-year-old man died Thursday afternoon after being run over by a delivery truck he was initially riding in.

Assistant Chief Daniel Ramsey with the Taylor Police Department says the accident happened around 2:50 p.m. at E. 7th Street, near Washburn in Taylor.

Ramsey says the victim was a passenger in the truck, but while the vehicle was stopped, he decided to get out and roll underneath the truck.

Ramsey believes the man was trying to get to the other side of the truck without having to walk around the truck.

The driver of the truck didn't realize the passenger was underneath the truck and accidentally ran over him.

The accident is still being investigated but there are no charges at this time.
