HURST -- A Trinity Railway Express train hit and killed a pedestrian as it was approaching the Richland Hills station this afternoon.
Tuesday's fatality occurred on the tracks about 4:35 p.m. just west of the 100 block of Precinct Line Road, said Sgt. Craig Teague, Hurst police spokesman. Authorities are attempting to identify the victim, Teague said.
No passengers aboard the train were reported to be injured, Teague said.
The track was closed, but bus service was being used to transport passengers between Hurst-Bell and Richland Hills stations.
It's the second fatality involving a TRE train in the past month.
On March 19, 43-year-old Michael Templeton was sitting on tracks just east of downtown Fort Worth when he was killed by a train. The TRE and the Federal Railroad Administration are investigating the incidents.
